Community Support & Beyond

Community Support & Beyond
The Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley is a steadfast pillar of support for our community, providing essential outreach and resources when they’re needed most. Whether it’s sourcing critical supplies like food, clothing, or hygiene kits during a crisis, or organizing Thanksgiving meals, the Club consistently goes above and beyond to help as many of our community members as possible.
At the heart of these efforts is our commitment to teaching the next generation the value of community service and what it means to be a good neighbor. Through hands-on experiences, our youth learn the importance of compassion, teamwork, and stepping up not only in times of crisis, but to assist with everyday issues.

Through hands-on experiences, our youth learn the importance of compassion, teamwork, and stepping up not only in times of crisis, but to assist with everyday issues.

We are dedicated to strengthening families and creating resilient communities. As the program develops and grows, we will eventually offer services to local community members. For the time being, we are slowly rolling out this initiative, and tailoring it to the specific needs of youth and their families who are currently involved with the Club.

Our incredible youth assembled care packages that included hygiene kits, clothes, and toys, and wrote personal notes to the families to bring a little cheer to families who were struggling after losing their homes.
We were also able to source and distribute monetary gift cards to local families in need who had lost their homes and livelihoods.

Later that month, our young people again assembled care packages, this time for the firefighters who had been working tirelessly to protect our city, and also wrote them thank-you letters to show our deep appreciation for their service.

We have also partnered with Master Lock, Mayor Karen Bass, and the LAFD to distribute 1000 fireproof Sentry Safes to families in one of the highest-risk areas of Los Angeles—our own backyard in the San Fernando Valley.

These safes are a vital tool for protecting important documents and valuables, giving families a sense of security as they prepare for potential emergencies. Through these initiatives, we continue to prioritize safety, resilience, and hope, empowering our youth and strengthening our community every step of the way.

Our breakfast celebrating the profound legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came back this year. We welcomed 300 friends, community leaders, supporters, and Club members and their families for a morning of inspiring presentations.
In January 2025, our Club, in partnership with the Hollywood Boys & Girls Club, arranged a care package giveaway for residents of Alta Dena affected by the devastating LA fires.
