Word searches are a fun way to help you improve your word recognition, spelling and vocabulary. In this challenge, you will work on a giant word search to find all of the words that you can. You can keep the fun going by creating your own word search online!

This activity is for ages 6-10, but anyone can join.

Supplies:

• A large piece of paper
• A Marker
• Tape



*If you do not have a large piece of paper you can also use poster board, the back of wrapping paper, or several small pieces of paper taped together.

The Challenge:

• Your challenge today is to find as many of the words as you can in a giant word search. You may need an adult to help set up the challenge by copying the letters and words from the word search below on to a big piece of paper and taping it to the wall.
• If it’s not possible to write the letters and words on a big piece of paper, you can use this super fun tool to create and solve an online word search here: https://www.abcya.com/games/make_a_word_search
• After your word search is set up, try to find all of the words. The words may be written in all different directions like up-to-down, down-to-up, frontwards, backwards, or diagonal.
• Cross them off as you find them.
