These Club programs help develop physical fitness, reduce stress, and promote a positive use of leisure time, appreciation for the environment, and interpersonal skills.
Triple Play is a comprehensive health and wellness program. It strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-17 by increasing daily physical activity, teaching them about good nutrition, and helping them develop healthy relationships.
Tigers Wrestling Team
The wrestling program was established in 1990 by Club volunteers. The Tigers consist of well over a hundred members that are as young as four years old. Its intent is to keep our children off the streets by targeting at-risk youth. The team leadership is comprised solely of volunteers with an unwavering commitment to our members. The Tigers have attained many awards, placed in several state championships, won over 2500 medals, and gained city recognition.
Join the Club's soccer team! This team is part of a local youth soccer league. There is no cost to join, and boys & girls are welcome. Practice starts in September on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
Junior Lakers Basketball
In 2016, the Lakers launched Junior Lakers, where the team works with youth in Los Angeles to develop fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community involvement.
Martial Arts Class
The Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley hosts self-defense and safety awareness classes Tuesdays and Thursdays for ages 5+. During class, students are taught basic mixed martial arts moves by a highly trained instructor. Students will complete various drills that improve self-confidence, increase focus, and develop new skills.
