Explore some of the things in your life that you are grateful for.
Wednesday, July 22
Gratitude is being thankful and appreciative of the good things you have. Being aware of and grateful for the good things we have helps us to learn more about ourselves and what is important to us. In this challenge, you will explore some of the things in your life that you are grateful for.
This activity is for ages 6-10, but anyone can join.
Supplies:
The Challenge:
Your challenge today is to create a gratitude jar. Gratitude exercises, like this, can help you learn about yourself, feel happier and less stressed. If you enjoy it, you can continue by adding notes of gratitude.
Find a jar or a container. Cut or tear paper into 10 small pieces. On each scrap piece of paper, write down or draw a picture of 1 good thing that happened to you or that you are thankful for. Here are some ideas to help you think of what to write:
Then, fold the pieces of paper and drop them in your jar. You can keep adding a few things to it every day or whenever you want. Open the jar once in a while and read the notes.
Extensions:
Members pose for a group photo in the Club.
Members play strategy games with an adult volunteer mentor.
