Sound Hunt

Go on a sound hunt through your home to find, create, and collect a list of sounds.

When you take a moment to stop and listen, there are a lot of noises to hear. Learning to listen carefully to the sounds that you hear around you can help you to learn a lot of skills like: focusing, calming down, and learning to listen fully without thinking other thoughts at the same time. In this challenge you will go on a sound hunt through your home to find, create, and collect a list of sounds

This activity is for ages 6-10, but anyone can join.

Supplies:

• Sound Hunt Checklist Worksheet
• Recording device to capture sounds (Optional)

The Challenge:

• In today’s challenge you will go around your home and try to find or create the sounds in the list on the next page.
• You can check the sounds off the list and try to check off all of them!
• You can record them as you find them on a device like a computer, tablet, or phone if you have one.

Extensions:

• Record the sounds and challenge someone to guess what they are.
• Make up your own sound hunt, send it to a friend or a family member and challenge them to do it.
